Your typical bottle openers work but they require more effort and I have had bad luck with the cork breaking up when I use a regular wine opener,this appliance makes opening the bottle so easy,it works perfect every time,i am glad I bought this and I bet I get more years of use out of it
I break traditional wine openers regularly and started using these electric versions a few years ago,it does everything the more expensive item did and lasted about a year of regular use,recently we were using a different bottle opener
There are more expensive units out there but this did such a good job with most corks that I re-upped,the only issue i've ever had with this is with some synthetic corks ... it had a tough time with them
You ever have been unable to remove a cork from a wine bottle -- especially a dry one,just be certain to hold the bottle firmly as it tends to spin while removing the cork it is simple
Where we had to uncork several bottles of wine in very little time,you press it the other way,its a great way to keep the bottle and the cork in tact without any pulling or yanking
